For the first 12 months, it costs 10 times more to care for a preemie than for a child born full term. Every little help will make a world of difference.
The myriad of competing needs we are constantly faced with means we will always have need for that extra hand willing to come onboard and be of help.
Without our volunteers, TBHI would find it extremely difficult to deliver on her set goals of steadily alleviating the burden borne by families saddled with prematurity in Nigeria.
As a TBHI volunteer, you can identify with us by visiting NICUs, helping to pick up donated relief items, making personal donations yourself, or co-ordinating fundraising efforts.
For enquiries and more information, kindly get in touch with Petra on Petra.Onyegbule@tinybeatinghearts.org
We are of the conviction that the most critical quality a TBHI volunteer can bring to the table is a passion for the cause and the desire to play an active role in curtailing the incidence of prematurity and caring for preemies. With passion and dedication, there is no limit to what volunteers will be willing to give.
You can assist by paying periodic visits to neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) around you, where you can help organise our programmes, identify some of the pressing needs of the preemies, staff of the NICU, as well as the NICU itself.
