Stakeholders Make Case For Pre-mature Babies In Nigeria

Issues relating to the plights of pre-mature babies and the challenges they are having to go through were brought to the fore at an event to mark this year’s world Pre-mature Babies Day.
The event which had the founder, Tiny Beating Heart Initiative( TBHI) and Chief Press Secretary to Kogi State Government, Hon Petra Onyegbule and other top government functionaries witnessed the overwhelming presence from important individuals within and outside the State.

Speaking, Hon Petra, who enunciated the importance of the day, called on nursing mothers to give special attention to their premature children.

She said babies born premature are special gifts to their parents and enjoined members of the public to ensure that they contribute their quota in ensuring that such children are given the attention required.

According to Hon Petra, who described premature babies as rubies promised to establish a support group that would help in educating women in the grassroots accross the State.

Also speaking the State commissioner for health, Hon Haruna Saka expressed the determination of the present adminstration to give necessary support to the Tiny Beating Heart Initiative.

He said the government inline with the New Direction of Alhaji Yahaya Bello administration as it’s regards the health needs of the people.

Highlight of the occasion include lecture on pre-mature babies and their characteristics as well as how they can be catered for delivered by the president Medical Women Association Mrs Medupin.
